About The Position

Under supervision of the Manager of Advanced Clinical Training, Mentor conducts and communicates performance updates and assists with supplemental guidance and instruction. Duties are not limited to the responsibilities listed below and are subject to change for development and refinement of the Advanced Clinical Training (ACT) Program. Requirements

• CNIM required.
• Required modality experience includes ABR and EEG.
• Minimum of 2 years IONM experience is required, MPOWERHealth tenure preferred.
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher (i.e. Masters, PHD, MD).
• Must have current AHA CPR certification.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience of cranial nerve 5, 7, and 12 EMG monitoring is preferred.
• Previous experience training individuals, either MCA or advanced cases, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training, Engagement and People Key responsibilities of Mentors are to develop, train, and positively encourage IOM Technologists as they advance their skills in IOM. At the guidance of the ACT Manager, Mentors will facilitate teaching of medical knowledge, IOM theory and physical skills. The Mentor will provide IOM Technologists the resources they need to become highly trained Advanced IOM Technologists.
• Develop relationships with techs and clinical leaders to facilitate open communication and progress transparency.
• Partner with Territory Managers and ACT Manager to develop strategic goals and expand Advanced Clinical Training initiatives.
• When not training, Mentor will be available to contribute to the Program by aiding in the development of MPOWERHealth University content, beneficial education strategies, and educational event logistics when applicable.
• Case Coverage Case coverage will be top priority dependent on territory and staffing needs. Travel for case training and coverage will be an essential function of this role. See full details in Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Job Description.
• OR Relations Focus on developing strong, productive relationships with physicians, Hospital staff, and administration. When appropriate, engage with surgeons and staff to obtain feedback on progress of IOM Technologist. Note improvements on workflow with the hospital work environment to ensure patient care remains at a high quality.
