About The Position

Works with the Cardiac Imaging team to coordinate care for cardiac CT and MRI patients. Monitor image quality and work closely with physicians and technologists to develop, maintain, and ensure proper application of all image acquisition and post-processing protocols. Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational programs related to cardiac imaging and assist with research projects to improve the knowledge and practice of providers and staff in relation to cardiac imaging. Assist in the establishment of partnerships with community and regional healthcare providers for the development of improved cardiac imaging care processes. The position is mainly a day shift, on occasion overtime may be needed.

Requirements

  • CT and MRI experience and certification required
  • Minimum of three years of cardiac tomographic imaging experience required
  • Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology required
  • Proficiency in the use of specialized image processing software and other PACS systems is required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work effectively with IT personnel is required
  • Demonstrated ability for problem-solving and decision-making required
  • Effective communication and writing skills required
  • Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of other personnel involved in cardiac imaging required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023, or later)
  • Current CT or MRI certification required
  • Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Proficiency in the use of specialized image processing software and other PACS systems is required
  • The ability to troubleshoot and work effectively with IT personnel is required
  • Demonstrated ability for problem-solving and decision-making required
  • Effective communication and writing skills required

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program
  • Associate degree (AS or AA) or higher in the relevant field
  • Florida DOH License, and ARRT (CT) and (MRI) or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of CT and MRI cardiac tomographic imaging experience
  • Current CT or MRI certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of lead, charge or relevant experience in CT and MRI environments
  • Ability to review goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan
  • Ability to travel locally within the enterprise
  • Ability to review and understand operations of various departments
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, develop, and train others
  • Knowledge of use Microsoft Office elements such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care for cardiac CT and MRI patients
  • Monitor image quality
  • Work closely with physicians and technologists to develop, maintain, and ensure proper application of all image acquisition and post-processing protocols
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate educational programs related to cardiac imaging
  • Assist with research projects to improve the knowledge and practice of providers and staff in relation to cardiac imaging
  • Assist in the establishment of partnerships with community and regional healthcare providers for the development of improved cardiac imaging care processes
  • Communicate with patients in anticipation of their test (as needed)
  • Assist with patient screening (MRI)
  • Optimize scanning protocols of patients
  • Check quality of scans while the patient is on the scanner
  • Abide by hospital/department HR policies
  • Adheres to any regulatory body guidelines governing modality including but not limited to: Joint Commission, AHCA, ACR, FL DOH
  • Obtains and examines the order for a scan to be aware of information such as procedures requested, patient’s condition and any other special notes or comments
  • Ensures that orders are appropriate to the type of exam recommended by physician
  • Notifies supervisor of any discrepancies and/or contacts physician’s office for correct orders if necessary
  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Verify the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth on electronic medical records and patient’s wristband
  • Always obtain necessary consents and education
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of Diagnostic Radiologic scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures under the direction/supervision of a Radiologist using age-appropriate standards of practice
  • Ability to integrate diagnostic, laboratory results, patient history and medical records and adapt exam as necessary
  • Ability to perform CT and MRI cardiac tomographic imaging and post processing
