About The Position

The position involves working directly with sonographers, cardiovascular trainees, and consultants in the review of echocardiograms. The role requires integrating known clinical information, echocardiographic findings, and related physiologic data to ensure that the exam is comprehensive and accurate. The candidate will be responsible for completely and accurately documenting data and echo exam information utilizing the current information management system, in preparation for physician review. Close communication with patient service representatives is essential to triage patients and coordinate patient care schedules. Flexibility to accommodate lab staffing needs is a must. When required, the candidate must be able to perform complete echocardiographic studies integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data. Strong human relation and communication skills, along with sound judgment, are essential. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment and must have an understanding of sterile procedures and isolation precaution techniques, exercising proper precautions to avoid potential risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years full-time experience as a cardiac sonographer.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credentials required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) credential or current enrollment in an accredited ACS program required.
  • Up-to-date certification in Basic Life Support required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification preferred.
  • Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification preferred.
