About The Position
Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The Advanced Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) is a 48-bed, fast-paced cardiac care unit that offers an exciting and challenging place for skilled nurses and a great environment in which to grow and learn. The Student Nurse Tech provides multi-skilled, direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse, requiring completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health).
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in ADN/BSN School of Nursing and have completed one (1) semester of a fundamental medical/surgical clinical
- Enrolled-accredited RN program
- No Experience
- Completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health)
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Tech, or Student Nurse Tech experience
- Enrolled-accredited BSN program
Responsibilities
- Assists nurse with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
- Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
