About The Position
Seneca Resources is seeking a highly experienced Web Intelligence (WebI) / SAP BusinessObjects Developer to support statewide financial and HR reporting initiatives for a major government client in Alabama. This senior-level role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-level reports, universes, and dashboards within SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in WebI development, SQL, Power BI, and large-scale financial/HR enterprise systems. You will work closely with business users, technical teams, and leadership to enhance reporting capabilities, improve data accessibility, and deliver accurate, high-performance business intelligence solutions. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on statewide operations through improved data analytics, visualization, and decision support.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing WebI reports for enterprise environments.
- 10+ years working with SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (universe design, report creation, scheduling, bursting).
- 10+ years of advanced SQL experience with Oracle or SQL Server (querying, joins, optimization).
- 10+ years of Microsoft Power BI development (DAX modeling, dashboard design, multi-source integration).
- Strong background supporting financial and HR applications in large enterprise settings.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, BI best practices, and data validation methodologies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with state or government systems, particularly finance or HR platforms.
- Knowledge of Tableau, Crystal Reports, or additional BI tools.
- Familiarity with ETL, data warehousing concepts, and reporting automation.
- SAP BusinessObjects or Microsoft Power BI certifications.
- Understanding of Alabama state regulations related to financial or HR data.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance WebI reports, dashboards, and universes for statewide financial and HR applications.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable and accurate reporting solutions.
- Conduct data modeling, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
- Collaborate with end-users and internal teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver user training.
- Maintain and update existing BI assets to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with state data standards.
- Integrate WebI outputs with Microsoft Power BI for hybrid BI and data visualization needs.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and validation of all developed reports.
- Create and maintain documentation for reports, universes, workflows, and development procedures.
- Ensure data governance, security, and privacy practices-especially around HR-related data.
