The Advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Operations and Maintenance (OM) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout United States. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Odessa, Texas areas.

Requirements

  • 2- 4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
  • A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.
  • Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license for at least a year.

Nice To Haves

  • 2- 4+ years of Renewable energy experience is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E.
  • Candidates residing in the Odessa, Texas area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
  • Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
  • Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
