About The Position

Advanced App/Cloud Support & Engineering Specialist (Accenture LLP; Arlington, VA): Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Advanced App/Cloud Support & Engineering Specialist in Arlington, VA, and the job duties are as follows: Design, implement, and maintain automation workflows for deploying Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) solutions across public and private cloud platforms. Perform core DBA functions for Oracle, SQL Server, Fusion Middleware, Oracle E-Business Suite, and other Oracle applications, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Support infrastructure project planning and execution within Accenture’s Managed Services Platform, contributing to lifecycle management and resource coordination. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Desk support and execute scheduled maintenance for hosted client systems. Develop and maintain operational standards for DBaaS environments, including installation, configuration, backup, and performance monitoring, and integrate these standards into project documentation. Participate in DBaaS platform initiatives in collaboration with AWS Cloud Architecture and Global Service Center Operations teams. Create and maintain documentation for public and private cloud DBaaS solutions, ensuring clarity and consistency in service delivery. Monitor database performance and health, and assist in diagnosing and resolving issues affecting customer instances. Conduct database sizing and capacity planning, and automate deployment of physical structures and backup/recovery processes to meet project resource needs. Develop and deploy automated monitoring tools, support scripts, and manage database patching and upgrade cycles. Lead advanced troubleshooting and resolution for both on-premises and cloud-hosted database environments. Maintain accurate documentation of work activities, progress updates, and incident resolutions. Develop standard operating procedures and deliver training sessions for Global Service Center Operations staff.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in the IT consulting industry.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: Managing Oracle databases and SQL Server databases as a database administrator; Administering databases supporting enterprise applications including Infor, JD Edwards, SAP, and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) EnterpriseOne; Implementing and managing change management processes, ITIL-based service management, capacity planning, incident tracking and reporting, system monitoring and alerting, system upgrades, and backup and recovery procedures; Applying application and database patches and troubleshooting E-Business Suite (EBS) related issues and performance tuning utilizing AWR, ASH and OEM; Working with public and private cloud service providers, including working with cloud infrastructure, hardware/software platforms, operating systems, and networking technologies; Configuring and managing Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, and SQL Server Log Shipping; and Working with vendor-specific tools including Oracle Data Pump, SQLLoader, SQL Server Integration Services, and Data Transformation Services.
  • Must have willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time to meet client needs.
