The Advanced Analytics Analyst Sr. is responsible for creating statistical models to predict, classify, quantify, and forecast business metrics. This role involves designing model studies to address specific business issues in consultation with business partners, maintaining databases to track business performance, and analyzing data to summarize performance metrics. The analyst will also develop and publish reports, prepare analytical datasets, and collaborate with business partners to identify population segments and develop actionable plans.

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • Devises best ways to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • Makes recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Prepares analytical data sets in support of modeling studies.
  • Builds, tests, and validates statistical models.
  • Publishes results and addresses constraints/limitations with high-level business partners.
  • Collaborates with business partners to determine identified population segments and develop actionable plans related to quality, use, cost, and other variables.
  • Develops rule-based algorithms to support value-based programs.
  • Designs various analyses for stakeholders using Snowflake database to analyze cost of care and various valued metrics.
  • Requires MS, MA, or PhD with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, cognitive science, economics, or operations research.
  • A minimum of 3 years direct experience programming large, multi-source datasets with SAS required.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS measures and prior experience building clinical metrics preferred.
  • Prior experience using SQL strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Query Language (CQL) is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to derive meaningful insights leveraging data preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and effectively in cross-functional activities preferred.
  • Proven ability to design modeling studies and experience with data models, addressing data quality issues in study design, constructing robust and efficient analytical data sets strongly preferred.
  • Significant experience in healthcare related field strongly preferred.
  • Ability to present meaningful results to a business audience and communicate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
