About The Position

The Advanced Analytical Scientist will be responsible for developing analytical methods, analyzing internal/external samples, and provides full support to Momentive R&D, plant quality and product stewardship. He/she should have expertise in both liquid and solid-state NMR, chromatography mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or master's degree in analytical chemistry or related disciplines.
  • Experience in both small molecule and polymer analytical chemistry especially in the NMR within solid state/liquid state area and other techniques.
  • 5+ years of industrial or academic experience
  • Analytical chemistry experience and demonstrated abilities in prioritization, time management, and flexibility with changing needs within the business.
  • Expert level skills troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and excellent communication skills, willingness to take initiatives, and being proactive.
  • Highly motivated analytical scientist to provide support to its global R&D and new product commercialization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely analytical support to multiple global business units in Momentive.
  • Develop and implement analytical methods.
  • Support adoption of these methods by other laboratories within the business.
  • Technical supervision and training of new employees and technicians.
  • Communicate analytical ideas, data and results to key stakeholders both verbally and through detailed reports.
  • Able to influence and positively engage with extended global analytical team and other stakeholders.
  • Interact with R&D scientists and other stakeholders to develop innovative analytical solutions.
  • Foster a safety culture in the workplace through active participation in safety initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively train other employees for the implementation of analytical methods.
  • Seeks opportunities to participate in scientific organizations/societies/associations to enhance both career and the company’s brand.
  • This position may be required to travel based on business needs domestically or internationally up to10%.
