About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (CAA/CRNA) will work under the direction of an anesthesiologist to administer various anesthetics, including local, inhalation, and intravenous, during surgical, obstetrical, or other medical procedures. The role involves interpreting and recording the patient's physiological and pharmacological status, ensuring continuity of care during the pre-operative and post-operative periods, and responding to life-threatening situations as required. This position is based at the Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, NM, within the Anesthesiology Administration department.

Requirements

  • State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending for CRNAs.
  • Certified by National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) for AACs.
  • Must maintain biannual certification through Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • CPR Certified.
  • Must maintain certification status.

Responsibilities

  • Administer local, inhalation, intravenous, and other anesthetics during medical procedures.
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status.
  • Provide continuity of care during the pre-op and post-op period.
  • Respond to life-threatening situations as required.
