About the position

Chamberlain University is seeking superior instructors with high professional standards and excellent communication skills to provide practitioner-focused education. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate students in various fields, with courses meeting once or twice a week for eight weeks. The teaching format blends face-to-face interaction with technology, including online discussions and assignments. The specific course of instruction may include NR603 - Advanced Clinical Diagnosis and Practice across the Lifespan Practicum, which focuses on diagnostic principles for Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and includes practical experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage students and improve learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives and assignment/examinations dates.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years online teaching experience at the graduate level is required.
  • Must have an active unencumbered compact RN nursing license (multi-state).
  • FNP certification required.
  • Clinical experience as FNP required.
  • Online teaching experience - highly preferred.
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be willing to obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching.

Benefits

  • Expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
