About The Position

A Non-Licensed Therapist in Adult Outpatient provides counseling and mental health support that focuses on supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and resource referrals while also assisting with client assessments and treatment planning while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with peers. There are two (2) available openings for the full-time, salaried position that works Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm. What you’ll be doing: Adheres to the Center’s philosophy of care, professional ethics and other standards of policies and procedures. Conduct comprehensive individual assessments of new or returning clients. Conduct individual, family and group therapy sessions. Assess client’s risk of suicidal/homicidal ideations. Maintain confidentiality of client information, treatment and records. Perform timely documentation of the assessment in EMR. Develop a treatment plan based on clinical experience and knowledge in partnership with the client. Present cases to psychiatrists regarding client’s medication and/or need. Provide crisis intervention as needed and/or required. Collaborate with internal staff regarding client’s progress such as Case Managers, Medical Staff, etc. Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. When necessary, referral to internal or external specialists or community resources to assist the client in treatment options. When applicable, assist family members in understanding, dealing with or supporting clients. Participate in various meetings to include departmental, divisional or other meetings as required. Maintain current on new developments in counseling. Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Conduct follow-up with clients, internal and/or external individuals. Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or related field
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient organization & documentation skills
  • DSM knowledge
  • Proficient experience with computers
  • Knowledge of local community agencies
