As we continue to grow and expand, the Division of Otolaryngology at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Otolaryngologist for a General ENT position based at our main campus in Paterson, NJ. The successful candidate will have completed an ACGME-accredited residency program and be Board Eligible/Board Certified. Opportunity for chief level position

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. who is Board Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program
  • Medical license to practice in the State of New Jersey

Responsibilities

  • Triage and care for ENT patients using accepted standards of practice.
  • Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, and use all available resources in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
  • Treat patients and perform services in the ENT clinic.
  • Reasonably participate in medical education of residents as deemed necessary by the Residency Program Director and the Chairperson of Surgery.
  • Interact with surgical and consulting physicians, outside departments, nursing and ancillary personnel to improve patient care.
  • Make appropriate specialty and sub­specialty referrals, but maintains responsibility, assuring continuing of care.
  • Perform administrative and other related duties as reasonably directed by the Chairperson of Surgery.
  • Participate in regular call coverage.
  • Support the activities of the ENT division and the Surgery Department inclusive of quality improvement/assurance activities.
  • Attend and participates in St. Joseph’s Health activities as requested.
  • Complete records in adequate professional detail, and in a timely manner using electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Maintain and acquire knowledge and skills to perform required duties to meet all hospital, state, organizational and licensure requirements.
