About The Position

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mental Health PRN position. The RN will provide clinical and administrative support to the program, perform therapeutic measures prescribed by the physician, participate in patient education and rehabilitation, and coordinate unit activities. The role requires maintaining high-quality patient care and effective communication with patients, families, and staff. The RN will also demonstrate clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing and respond appropriately to family dynamics.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.
• At least 1 year of recent inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.
• BLS certification.
• CPI certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to the mental health program.
• Perform therapeutic measures as prescribed and delegated by the physician.
• Participate in patient education and rehabilitation.
• Coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge of psychiatric nursing.

• Set limits as needed by recognizing potential behavior problems.
• Utilize knowledge of growth and development, psychopathology, and psychosocial systems.
• Communicate effectively about psycho-dynamics and therapeutic processes.
• Respond appropriately to family members when needed.
