About The Position

Under the supervision of the Center Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of clinical services and community supports to persons with severe and persistent mental illness, as defined by the state authority, Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Services are to be provided according to the Texas Resiliency and Recovery (TRR) Model, and must conform to the Performance Contract, Community Service Standards, and Helen Center policy and procedures, and Medicaid standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with major in social, behavioral or human services field.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable to drive Center vehicles.
• Pass and maintain all Center mandate trainings and all trainings required for certification.
• Experience with Severe and Persistent Mental illness is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in making informed choices and educate them on community resources.
• Assist with accessing services and schedule uniform assessments.
• Update recovery plans in accordance with consumer need.
• Serve on-call after regular business hours, for which compensation is provided.
• Provide face-to-face assessment and crisis intervention services to any person requesting help or presenting a crisis.
• Provide consultation and support to fellow staff as needed.
• Maintain unassigned caseloads up to date and assist caseworkers with assigned caseloads as needed.
• Implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work.
