Reporting to the Director of Transfer and Adult Services, he Adult Learner Success Coordinator serves as the University’s primary coordinator for adult learner engagement, re-enrollment, and ongoing success. The Coordinator leads outreach to stopped-out and returning adult learners, designs onboarding and support strategies tailored to non-traditional students, and plays a key role in establishing and operationalizing the Adult Learner Hub. The successful candidate will be student-centered, innovative, and collaborative, with the ability to translate adult learner needs into practical programs, services, and partnerships that promote persistence, completion, and career advancement. This newly created role reflects UAPB’s strategic commitment to expanding access, improving completion, and strengthening workforce alignment for adult and post-traditional learners. As the University builds a more responsive and inclusive enrollment and student success ecosystem, the Adult Learner Success Coordinator will play a central role in re-engaging adult learners, supporting degree completion, and launching the UAPB Adult Learner Hub—a dedicated center designed to meet the unique needs of working adults. The Adult Learner Success Coordinator will perform the following duties in collaboration with the Director of Transfer and Adult Services and campus partners: Adult Learner Re-Engagement and Outreach • Lead outreach and re-engagement efforts for adult learners, including stopped-out students and returning degree completers. • Collaborate with Enrollment Management and Institutional Research to identify adult learner populations for targeted outreach. • Develop and implement communication strategies tailored to adult learners’ motivations, schedules, and barriers. • Serve as a primary point of contact for adult learners from inquiry through re-enrollment and degree completion. Adult Learner Hub Development and Operations • Play a central role in the design, launch, and continuous improvement of the UAPB Adult Learner Hub. • Coordinate adult learner services including onboarding, advising handoff, academic planning, and referrals to campus resources. • Establish service standards and support models that reflect adult learners’ needs for flexibility, responsiveness, and clarity. • Support evening, online, and hybrid student engagement initiatives in collaboration with academic units. Advising, Credit for Prior Learning, and Academic Navigation • Assist adult learners in understanding degree pathways, transfer credit, and Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) opportunities. • Collaborate with academic departments, the Registrar, and Advising to facilitate timely evaluation of prior learning and transfer credit. • Support adult learners in developing academic plans that balance progress to degree with work and life commitments. • Help reduce excess credits and time-to-degree for adult learners. Career Alignment and Workforce Connection • Partner with Career Services to integrate career counseling, workforce alignment, and professional development into adult learner support. • Promote opportunities for internships, applied learning, credential stacking, and career advancement. • Support partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, and community organizations to enhance adult learner outcomes. Community Building and Engagement • Design and facilitate opportunities for adult learner connection and belonging, including workshops, orientations, and peer networking. • Foster a sense of community among adult learners through programming, communication, and intentional engagement strategies. • Serve as an advocate for adult learners across campus, elevating their perspectives in planning and decision-making. Data, Assessment, and Continuous Improvement • Track and analyze key metrics related to adult learner engagement, persistence, re-enrollment, and completion. • Use disaggregated data to identify barriers and inform targeted interventions. • Prepare regular reports and recommendations for the Director of Transfer and Adult Services. • Contribute to continuous improvement of adult learner services and programs.
