You will collaborate closely with nursing, licensed independent practitioners (LIPs), therapy services, case management, and social work to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (E.g. Epic) and documentation standards

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to adult patients (18+) including comprehensive nutrition assessments, individualized diet modifications, and patient-focused nutrition education.
Partner effectively with licensed independent practitioners (LIPs), providing confident, proactive recommendations and advocating for appropriate enteral and parenteral nutrition interventions to optimize clinical outcomes.
Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within UVA's integrated electronic health record (EHR) system.
Participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and internal education.
Foster a supportive, collaborative team culture that values autonomy, flexibility, and evidence-based practice.
Adhere to guidelines in the Company Diet Manual and Clinical Nutrition Policies and Procedures Manual
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations, including HIPAA and patient rights policies
