About The Position

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy for the 2025- 2026 school year. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget. POSITION: Adult Education Program Coordinator, Chelmsford Community Education Program (Exempt) JOB GOAL:To supervise the operation of the Community Education Programs (with the exception of the childcare programs). These programs include (but are not limited to) evening and daytime enrichment and academic activities for all ages including sports, music lessons, trips, shows, and online classes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating all operational facets of the CommEd programs (excluding childcare).
  • Perform diversified administrative duties to assist the Director and Assistant Director of Community Education with the overall functions of the varied CommEd programs.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to ensure efficient operation of their programs and visit sites on a routine basis to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and processing of program staff.
  • Train staff and maintain all required documents for employees and vendors.
  • Responsible for managing the software for all Community Education Programs.
  • Create online registration for all Community Education Programs and meet all enrollment deadlines.
  • Responsible for creating and providing reports to each site, as needed.
  • May need to work a flexible schedule on occasion to attend staff meetings, manage issues, visit night programs
  • Required to be "on call" for emergencies that may occur at any program after normal work hours.
  • Implement advertisement and marketing strategies for the organization to meet enrollment goals.
  • Maintain all social media and websites.
  • Monitor and ensure each program's budget remains on track.
  • Monitor supply and equipment inventory, coordinate ordering, and distribution of supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for processing registration forms and related paperwork.
  • Coordinate use of appropriate spaces for activities including school classrooms and Town fields.
  • Create and implement online course evaluations for instructors.
  • Compile data for review of the Director of Community Education.
  • Act upon own discretion in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director in matters not covered by school policy.
  • Research new ideas and programs to increase opportunities for the community.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Community Education.
