About The Position

The HSE Instructor at Blue River Career Programs is responsible for teaching high school equivalency courses in core subject areas such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. The instructor will utilize various instructional modalities, including technology, to accommodate diverse adult learning styles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong math skills are necessary.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Valid teacher's license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver educational services and curriculum in compliance with the College and Career Readiness Standards.
• Facilitate highly effective and engaging learning environments.
• Employ a variety of instructional modalities, including the use of technology, to cater to various adult learning styles.
• Assess student learning and provide appropriate intervention, feedback, and support.
• Refer students for additional support as needed.
• Assist with timely and accurate student information compilation and data entry.
• Refer students to technical training and/or associate degree coursework as appropriate.
• Provide premiere quality service to all constituencies of the education department.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with BRCP director, program coordinator, Southeast Community Services staff, teachers, students, volunteers, and community partners.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and professional development as required by policy.
• Attend department and/or agency meetings as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
