About The Position

Russellville School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered Part-Time ESL Teacher to support adult learners in achieving English language acquisition, workforce readiness, and academic success. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that embraces diverse cultures, backgrounds, and learning styles. This position will include both classroom instruction and individualized support to help adult learners progress through English language levels and meet their education and employment goals.

Requirements

• Valid Arkansas Teaching License with ESL endorement.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and online learning platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Current Arkansas teaching license or Adult Education teaching certification.
• Relevant eperience teaching English Language Learners.
• Interest in serving in a dual role as a Career Coach, supporting adult learners with resume building, digital literacy, employability skills, mock interviews, and career pathway planning
• Experience teaching adult learners or working in an educational setting.
• Bilingual proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging instruction to adult ESL students aligned to state standards, NRS guidelines, and program goals
• Assess student needs, track progress, and maintain accurate attendance and documentation
• Integrate technology, digital literacy, and real-world application into daily instruction
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, encouragement, and growth
• Collaborate with Adult Education staff to support student enrollment, persistence, and measurable skill gains
• Supporting students with workforce preparation, career exploration, and postsecondary transitions
• Facilitating workshops focused on employment readiness and workplace English
• Partnering with community agencies and employers to support student success
