The position focuses on the (ELT) program, Digital Literacy, and Citizenship Preparation program, specifically targeting older refugee and immigrant clients. The role involves collaboration with colleagues to ensure that adult education programs meet donor requirements, collect qualitative and quantitative data, and train program volunteers. The individual will actively engage with clients and the IRC in Kansas team.

  • Coordinate the delivery of adult education classes, including coordination of class schedules, enrollment and registration, pre and post testing, volunteer training and supervision, curriculum development and instructional quality.
  • Instruct a limited number of classes as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to evaluate program success and create replicable models for working with adults.
  • Ensure compliance with all program standards and grant requirements in accordance with the Reception and Placement, Intensive Case Management, and Kansas State Office for Refugees (KSOR) programming requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with colleagues on the status of the programs, clients, and outcomes, and provide timely reports on any management and contract compliance issues.
  • Proactively engage with community organizations in resource development and community partnerships through grant writing, external stakeholder meetings, and opportunities to improve practice.
  • Develop additional supports and services for older refugee and immigrant clients to become citizens.
  • Participate in the development and writing of grant proposals in support of the work of the IRC Kansas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Education or related field.
  • Hold TESOL certification form and/or a minimum of two years of experience in TESOL instruction in a classroom setting for an adult education program.
  • Minimum two years' experience in adult education programs, including previous experience supervising staff or volunteers.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in a multi-cultural setting and with limited-English proficiency speakers.
  • Fluency in English required. International work or study experience and second language abilities a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), internet research, and experience using databases and information gathering systems.
  • Able to occasionally work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable access to an insured vehicle.
