About The Position

The Adult Day Center Aide at Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center is responsible for assisting older adults with personal care and mobility needs, while also supporting group activities and program requirements. This part-time role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends, to ensure the well-being of participants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good communication skills with the ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
• At least 6 months of experience providing care for older adults.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible schedule with occasional weekend hours.
• Satisfactory criminal records check including fingerprinting.
• Ability to pass a drug test if required.
• In good health and free from communicable diseases.
• Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certified or trained within one month.

• Experience providing social, physical, and cognitive activities for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal care and mobility needs.
• Support group activities and program needs.
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks.
• Clean up areas after activities and meals.
• Maintain records, reports, and Individual Care Plans.
• Attend staff meetings and planning sessions.
• Work closely with caregivers, family members, and staff to promote effective care.
• Participate in in-service training and educational workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
