About The Position

The position involves providing support and services to adults with developmental disabilities as directed. The role requires following a daily scheduled activities plan for individuals assigned within the facility, promoting a clean and safe environment, and demonstrating through programming data that clients have learned new skills that enhance their quality of life and community inclusion. The employee will communicate concerns to the ADT Supervisor, provide support to ensure maximum program participation, and maintain accurate documentation and reports as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related experience, preferably with individuals having developmental disabilities.
  • Valid Florida drivers license with a safe driving record.
  • Current in date CPR certification.
  • Ability to be innovative and organized while working cooperatively with generic services in the community.
  • Meet State of Florida Department of Children & Families guidelines for Good Moral Character.

Responsibilities

  • Follow daily scheduled activities plan for individuals assigned within the facility.
  • Promote, establish and maintain a clean, safe training, therapeutic and supportive environment.
  • Demonstrate through programming data that clients have learned new skills enhancing quality of life, self esteem, independent functioning, and community inclusion.
  • Communicate to ADT Supervisor in a timely manner concerns of client training activities.
  • Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities to ensure maximum program participation.
  • Give feedback to ADT Supervisor ensuring services are responsive to clients needs and choices.
  • Demonstrate flexibility necessary to maximize training and productivity.
  • Project a positive image of the Association as reflected to customers, general public, co-workers, and assigned clients.
  • Demonstrate efficient, safe manner when performing duties and with Association and customer property, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Maintain and submit accurate documentation and reports as required.
  • Assist with the needs of total care clients (changing, showering, dressing, etc.).
  • Assist clients to acquire skills consistent with Adult Day Training guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a professional manner which creates a role model for clients.
  • Oversee assembly/socialization activities of clients, and off-site clients if needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients personal data.
  • Implement training programs developed by the ADT Supervisor.
  • Keep ADT supervisor aware of updates and changes needed on individual training programs.
  • Participate in In-service.
  • Promote compliance with Association rules and regulations.
