About The Position

This position is a job share position. The nutrition site manager/drive will partner with a co-worker to provide team coverage two to three days per week, Mondays through Fridays. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (some days may finish work sooner). The nutrition site manager/driver will work from the Centralia Center Senior Dining Site in Wisconsin Rapids. Employee will transport pans of food from caterer to Senior Dining locations, and deliver meals on a delivery route to customer homes. This position may occasionally fill in at senior dining sites as needed. Employee will work closely with agency partners, co-workers, volunteers, and the public, requiring effective communication skills.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • Must have a driver's license and a driving record that meets County standards.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and transport with use of a cart.
  • Knowledge of programs and services available to elderly and disabled through the Aging & Disability Resource Center.
  • Knowledge of geographic locations within service area--residents, housing, demographic patterns, etc.
  • Knowledge of sanitation inspection procedures and requirements.
  • Skill in utilizing good hygiene and food safety procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of participants and other areas of employment.
  • Ability to train volunteers.
  • Skill in planning and organizing work effectively.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to be flexible and demonstrate a positive attitude about problem solving and implementing operational changes.
  • Ability to relate well and cooperate with co-workers, volunteers, customers, and community partners.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with senior citizens, including the frail and chronically ill elderly, family members, and caregivers.
  • Skill in completing records promptly and accurately.
  • Ability to cooperate with people and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing with a variety of groups and individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains daily operations, cleanliness, and standards for food safety for nutrition program services.
  • Collaborates with ADRC-CW Nutrition Team and caterer to transport bulk pans of food to various Senior Dining locations.
  • Assures bulk food and meal temperatures are maintained according to safe food handling standards.
  • Follows food safety and sanitation procedures including appropriate handwashing and calibrating thermometers.
  • Maintains temperature logs for food and holding equipment.
  • Coordinates temperature testing procedures to assure food safety.
  • Reads menus to determine appropriate serving sizes and appropriate foods for specialized diets; monitors quality and quantity of food.
  • Assists with volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling efforts for nutrition services.
  • Prepares participant service documents and other data as part of the reporting requirements of the nutrition program.
  • Works closely with the Nutrition Program leadership and other partners as appropriate to recommend new or improved models for service improvements.
  • Communicates with support services team regarding meal and supply orders, and provides backup as needed.
  • Uses basic technology tools on a daily basis using an ADRC-CW-issued device. This includes email, virtual meetings, Workday time log, etc.
  • Alerts supervisor to changes in service, problems, unusual circumstances, and/or areas needing improvement.
  • Formulates and makes recommendations to address issues/concerns.
  • Refers specific concerns about consumers to supervisor or other ADRC-CW staff as needed.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as scheduled by the Nutrition Program leadership staff, including monthly virtual team meeting and two in-person trainings/meetings with all staff.
  • Develops solutions to work issues that add value for our customers.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Works extra hours as required.
