The Adoption Program Coordinator at LFCS is a vital role within one of Missouri's largest and most respected non-profit organizations. This position is dedicated to empowering children and families by providing comprehensive adoption services. The coordinator will develop, coordinate, and deliver exchange, search, and reunion adoption services, ensuring that all interactions are rooted in compassion and professionalism. The role involves maintaining child welfare services, offering counseling, and managing cases for individuals, families, and groups, including birth, foster, and adoptive families. In this position, the coordinator will provide essential adoption services to pre-adoptive and adoptive parents. This includes conducting home studies, offering matching support, and delivering post-placement and post-adoption services. The coordinator will also educate, counsel, and advocate for families throughout the adoption process. A key responsibility will be to coordinate exchanges between adoptive families and birth families, utilizing various methods of contact to facilitate these interactions. The Adoption Program Coordinator will work closely with the Adoption Psychoeducation Coordinator to develop materials for exchange, search, and reunion services. Additionally, they will partner with the Post Adoption Coordinator to ensure that services are coordinated effectively to meet client needs. Providing trauma-informed care is a priority, and the coordinator will build positive relationships with clients through regular, consistent contact, whether face-to-face or virtual. In crisis situations, the coordinator will respond promptly according to program protocols, which may include on-call phone coverage. The role may also require testifying in court and completing professional court reports, necessitating a professional demeanor in all documentation and interactions. Furthermore, the coordinator will serve as a mentor to Case Managers and Social Workers, developing and providing training on topics such as cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as therapeutic and intervention techniques. Supervision and mentoring of students and interns will also be part of the responsibilities.
