About The Position
The position involves conducting adoption consultations and showing animals to potential adopters. The role requires providing exceptional customer service to guests inquiring about adoptions, answering questions about animals and the adoption process, and providing compassionate care to all animals in the shelter. Responsibilities also include ensuring the accuracy of recorded information and processing paperwork for adoptions, exercising patience and tact when working with guests in crisis, and performing adoption follow-up counseling. The position requires maintaining knowledge of different animal species and troubleshooting common problems seen in adoptive homes, as well as overall animal maintenance, including supplying animals with food and water, cleaning cages, kennels, and litter boxes. The employee must maintain sanitary conditions for animals and work areas, carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, observe safety rules, and perform other duties as requested.
