About The Position
North Shore Animal League America, the world's largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization, is seeking a dedicated Adoption Counselor Associate to join our team. This full-time position requires a commitment of five days a week, including one weekend shift. The Adoption Counselor will play a crucial role in counseling and educating adopters on the proper and humane care of their adopted pets. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing all pets admitted through Adoption Counseling, ensuring that each animal receives the attention and care it deserves. In this role, you will counsel adopters with basic behavioral advice, generate and accurately process all adoption return and home admit paperwork, and schedule appointments for adoption returns that occur over 30 days. You will also be responsible for generating new and/or obtaining existing medical records, processing the entry of admitted pets into our computer databases, and generating weekly statistical reports from those databases. Additionally, you will document and present more serious behavior issues to our Pet Behavior staff and respond to all phone messages left for Adoption Counseling in a timely manner. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
