About The Position

FamiliesFirst Network of Lakeview (FFN) provides foster care, adoption and child welfare services in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. The nonprofit's specialized team is passionate about helping abused and neglected children and their families. FamiliesFirst Network collaborates with partners throughout the state, in Northwest Florida's four-county area and within our faith-based communities to ensure the safety and well-being of children. This position is to provide adoption education and services for children and families in the child welfare system with a legal case goal of adoption. This position is responsible for assessing the child's and family's adoption readiness and offering support or interventions to ensure permanency is obtained for the child in a physically and emotionally safe and stable environment. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with children, youth, families, partners and providers regarding the adoption process and requirements. Assignments/tasks are to be executed with considerable independence and maintain compliance with established agency policies and procedures, contract requirements, and federal and state regulations/laws.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent and four years of full-time social work or human services experience; or an associate degree or 60+ credit hours from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional work experience; or two (2) years of full-time social work or human services experience; or a bachelor's degree for those without relevant professional experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside and have a good driving record.
  • Must receive a passing score on the Introduction to Child Protection written assessment and field-based assessment within one (1) year of employment.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
