About The Position

The Adoption Coordinator at New Foundations, Inc. is responsible for preparing and facilitating adoptions and providing adoptive support services for children and families. This role involves working closely with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and the State Wide Adoption Network, ensuring compliance with regulations and timelines. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and involves direct supervision by the Adoption Supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 year of experience working with children and families.
• Current Pennsylvania (or Residing State) Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
• Acceptable PA State Police, Child Abuse Clearances, and FBI clearances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate adoptions and adoptive support services for children and families.
• Complete child and family profiles in accordance with county and SWAN regulations and timelines.
• Conduct home studies, background checks, and related documentation as per regulations.
• Participate in monthly supervision meetings with the Adoption Supervisor and maintain ongoing communication regarding case concerns.
• Generate adoptive files and records, ensuring confidentiality of information.
• Utilize computer programs such as Word, Excel, Access, EM, Internet, and Email for documentation and reporting.
• Prepare invoices and complete SWAN benchmarks in a timely manner.
• Conduct inter-agency and county file reviews promptly.
• Facilitate child preparation activities for children referred for Child Preparation Services.
• Attend inter-agency, county, and SWAN meetings and training sessions.
• Complete finalization reports and paperwork, and attend adoption finalization hearings.
• Conduct pre-adoptive training in accordance with agency regulations.
