About The Position
Care Initiatives is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to fill a split role as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and MDS Coordinator at Corning Specialty Care. This unique position offers the opportunity to combine leadership responsibilities with clinical expertise in care planning and assessment. Role Overview:As the ADON/MDS Coordinator, you will assist the Director of Nursing with operational and leadership duties while managing the full cycle of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and care planning. Your role is essential in ensuring compliance, quality care, and regulatory readiness.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
- Current CPR certification
- Familiarity with long-term care regulations and MDS 3.0 assessments
- Leadership experience preferred, with strong organizational and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- MDS credential (RAC-CT) preferred or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing in staff supervision, scheduling, and day-to-day management
- Complete accurate and timely MDS 3.0 assessments and care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care
- Monitor documentation and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
