About The Position

Adolescent Primary Clinical Therapist Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely. About This Role As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans. This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program. You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Prescribers to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care. Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

Requirements

  • Hold the following licenses or certifications: LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LSW, MFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD
  • The ability to assist families and patients in talking about difficult topics is a necessity.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 + years of clinical experience conducting individual and family therapy (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
  • Provide group and individual therapy
  • Provide family therapy as needed
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system, on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicate with patients’ homeschool and attend school re-entry meetings
  • Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
  • Chart progress of patients appropriately
  • Complete administrative documentation (initial treatment plans/updates, discharges, attendance, research)
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Provide insurance utilization team with updates
  • Provide group therapy, as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned
