The Admixture Tech II position at Compass Oncology involves preparing, maintaining, and delivering medications for cancer patients under the supervision of healthcare professionals.   • Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing injectable medications under supervision of a physician.
  • Check all medication orders for completeness of information.
  • Float to other clinical sites depending on departmental need.
  • Verify patient information and provider authorization of medication orders.
  • Review all medication orders for insurance approval before admixing medications.
  • Process medication orders including preparing labels and admixture details, followed by admixture of medications as ordered by providers.
  • Prepare all medications within OSHA guidelines and Compass Oncology guidelines.
  • Verify dose calculations and calculate correct dosage volumes.
  • Count controlled substances and maintain records.
  • Maintain current drug information and MSDS sheets.
  • Properly dispose of all materials used when mixing chemotherapy or non-chemotherapy medications.
  • Conduct required cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and pharmacy department according to policies and procedures.
  • Log and date all medications being used.
  • Maintain drug inventory, including checking monthly for outdates.
  • Keep accurate temperature logs and other quality assurance logs.
  • Maintain control documentation of medications, including lot numbers and quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain indigent patient medication program and records.
  • Complete and maintain accountability logs on all research medications.
  • Order supplies and medications and ensure adequate supply of medications and medical and pharmacy supplies.
  • Receive and shelve medications.
  • Review and check medication charges daily in preparation for revenue cycle team.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician training required.
  • Pharmacy Technician license for Washington and/or Oregon strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or clinic pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous Admixture experience, especially in oncology, strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel between clinics as needed.
  • Experience with data entry and report generation in a pharmacy setting.
