About The Position

The Admitting Services Representative at HonorHealth plays a crucial role in the patient admission process, ensuring that clients are efficiently and accurately registered upon arrival at the hospital. This position involves collecting necessary information, processing admissions, and providing a positive experience for patients while adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. The representative will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to facilitate patient satisfaction and maximize reimbursement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of medical office, hospital registration, business, banking, medical insurance office, or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Admits clients to the hospital by collecting information and deposits, completing forms, and obtaining signatures.
• Greets patients and the public, providing necessary information in a courteous and professional manner.
• Processes pre-registered accounts and completes registration and admissions information by obtaining patient demographic, insurance, financial, and medical information.
• Obtains required signatures on all medical, financial, and compliance documents.
• Prepares supportive paperwork, including patient identification bands, to assure accurate patient identification.
• Scans all appropriate documents into the electronic medical and financial record.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and coverage and executes appropriate insurance notification procedures.
• Obtains prior authorization to avoid non-compliance, denials, and penalties.
• Requests and accepts payments for balances due on accounts upon admission or discharge.
• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to ensure patient satisfaction and maximize reimbursement.
