The Admitting Clerk Outpatient is responsible for welcoming patients, families, physicians and visitors to Ohio County Healthcare either in person or over the phone. The general duties include preregistration and registration of patients, receiving and directing incoming phone calls, distribution of mail, deliveries and messages, coordination of patient activities with all clinical departments and their staff and assisting all other departments as necessary. The employee is also responsible for verifying correct insurance and demographic information at the time of registration and to obtain completion of all mandated forms and paperwork. May be requested to be member of QI team. Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on information within the organization and provides a way of communication between staff members. Performs all procedures according to established policies and procedures of OCH and adheres to Legal Compliance policies as well as other regulatory issues.
