About The Position

Texoma Medical Center (TMC), a 414-bed acute care facility, has been providing quality healthcare to residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Located in Denison, Texas, TMC serves as a regional specialty center offering major services including open heart surgery, neurosurgery, and certified trauma care. The basic purpose of nursing at TMC is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, with Patient Centered Care as the foundation. Nurses are expected to provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, demonstrate Service Excellence standards, and adhere to the Standards of Practice set forth by professional nursing associations. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing (per nursing licensure).
  • One (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days.
  • Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed within 60 days of new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Treatment in the State of Texas.
  • Ability to identify and address the special needs of adolescent, adult, geriatric patients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the patient, family, or additional resources involved in referral.
  • Practices teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Psychiatric/chemical dependency experience.
