About The Position

The Vines Hospital is currently recruiting for a PRN Admissions RN. The Admissions Nurse is responsible for being able to perform all aspects of The Vines Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to The Vines Hospital’s physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4. The RN will review packets, accept and admit patients. This position requires a person to work with minimal supervision and will work with all facility units: business office, medical staff, medical records, utilization review, marketing, and nursing. The Vines' Admissions department is an exciting atmosphere where we help patients make decisions to seek help. In the Admissions department, we work together as a team. With 1 in 5 adults suffering from a mental illness, the Admissions RN must be able to adapt and flow to the ever changing needs of our patients. The Admissions RN will triage and assess people in crisis. The Vines Hospital located in Ocala Florida, is a premiere behavioral health facility located in picturesque Marion County offering specialized behavioral health care and services to adults and adolescents. We offer acute psychiatric, detox, and PTSD treatment.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred.
• Previous assessment experience required.
• Licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.
