About The Position

Montana Technological University seeks an organized and energetic Admissions Representative to engage prospective students, families, and organizations; recruiting students to apply and enroll who can benefit from and contribute to our distinct campus community of determined doers. The Admissions Representative will lead undergraduate recruitment efforts in an assigned territory to meet the university’s strategic enrollment goals. The Admissions Representative will develop relationships with inquiring students, assist them through the application process, and guide them through enrollment. The successful candidate will manage their assigned territory, organizing recruitment activities such as attending college fairs, visiting high schools, hosting and participating in campus visits and events, and maintaining student records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. An Admission Representative must be able to learn a large amount of information about Montana Tech’s academic programs and campus resources and disseminate it to students and/or families. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Planning, managing, and evaluating recruitment activities for prospective students within an assigned geographic territory, including but not limited to high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and other events for groups and individual prospective students. Must be able and willing to travel in-state and out-of-state via vehicle and/or air for recruiting events. Admission Representatives usually spend at least four to five weeks total, per year, away from the office. Travel is usually dispersed from a few days to a week at a time. Implementing professional written and verbal communication to prospective students and their families with information about Montana Tech and offer guidance through the college application and enrollment process. Supporting office operations, including answering phone calls and emails, staffing on-campus recruitment events, and meeting with prospective students from your assigned territory during campus visits. Giving presentations and campus tours to groups of people. Collaborating and cultivating relationships with alumni and departments across campus to support student recruitment efforts. Evaluating students for admission and making professional recommendations regarding admission. Safeguarding confidentiality of student, staff, and University information by exercising discretion in communication and following policies and procedures for the handling of records and other materials. Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and/or Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment. Working in a team-oriented, flexible, and customer-service oriented manner, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with campus departments and University partners. Hours are typically M-F, 8:30-5:00, but a flexible work schedule is required to accommodate seasonal travel and events.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and Some College
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule allowing travel
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and the ability to learn other software as assigned
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working in secondary education or at a college/university
  • Demonstrated customer service, sales, or marketing experience
  • Experience tailoring communication to varying audiences
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills
