About The Position

The position involves performing patient registration functions by interviewing patients or responsible parties to obtain identification and demographic information. The role includes verifying insurance and other payer benefits, performing upfront collections, determining eligibility, and arranging for the admission of patients to the hospital following established policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires obtaining signatures from individuals responsible for payment and explaining the hospital's financial obligations. The individual will also answer the telephone, direct calls accordingly, assist with ordering office supplies as needed or requested, and help in preparing letters and sending correspondence as requested.

Requirements

  • One to two years of medical/healthcare business office experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Good verbal communication skills in English/Spanish required.
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.
  • Complete the CPI training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification thereafter.
