About The Position

Opened in 2010, Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a 184-bed, acute care hospital located in Palmdale, CA. One of Southern California's newest hospitals and featuring all-private patient rooms, Palmdale Regional provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to residents and visitors of the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. Palmdale Regional is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade/Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (now AV Edge), and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional believes in 'Community Service Excellence' and supports nonprofit agencies and other healthcare related organizations. Palmdale Regional recently joined the newly created regional brand, Southwest Healthcare. This comprehensive network of care incorporates five hospitals in the southern California region and includes multiple convenient ambulatory locations serving many communities. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a hospital or related medical field preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of office procedures, including good telephone skills, medical terminology, typing, insurance requirements and collection practices.
  • Ability to be responsible for all emergency and outpatient registrations, obtaining information needed, with the ability to communicate information to patients, medical personnel, co-workers, insurance company representatives, medical groups and/or interested parties.
  • General education level required.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients, guarantor or family member to obtain the necessary information required to register the patient presenting to the Hospital for treatment.
  • Collects patient financial responsibility at time of service.
