The Admissions Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for completing the RN admission process for patients being admitted through the ED. This includes admission assessments, screenings, medical history, medication reconciliation, full-body skin screening, Braden risk assessment, imaging of identified skin disruptions, and initiation of pressure injury protocol. The role involves engaging in collaborative relationships with peers and other professional disciplines, applying leadership principles, and taking responsibility for professional growth and accountability. The nurse provides responsible and accountable nursing care based on American Nursing Association standards and the Florida Nurse Practice Act, utilizing the nursing process to identify nursing diagnoses. Additionally, this position involves leadership in fostering a safe working environment and positive relationships, acknowledging hospice as an affiliate of Halifax Health, and contributing to policy formulation and staff education. Operational duties include managing intake/admissions, prioritizing tasks, coordinating staffing, reviewing medical records for eligibility, managing referrals, ensuring smooth admission processes, meeting productivity goals, and strategizing on admission barriers. Financial responsibilities cover budget adherence, human resource allocation monitoring, and maintaining departmental resources. Compliance and Quality Assurance involve meeting state and federal regulations, modeling ethical standards, and providing compliance education. Human Resources tasks include implementing HR policies, interviewing and hiring, ensuring staff orientation and education, recognition, and corrective actions. Other duties include proficiency in information technology systems and public speaking.
