About The Position

The Office of Admissions at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking an Admissions Officer. The Admissions Officer will represent and market NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) to potential students at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events; cultivate relationships with students to build a qualified application pipeline. Assist with the achievement of University, geographic, and department enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply to NYU. Review and evaluate students admission applications for graduate and undergraduate degree programs. Approve or deny applications and recommend borderline applicants to academic departments and the Admission Committee for further consideration. Advise students on the application process, academic programs/requirements, financial aid options, and other student services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years Experience in admissions, customer service or related student services experience.
  • Ability to promote the University.
  • A strong self-starter who can to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people.
  • Valid drivers license and passport.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively.
  • Ability to market diverse programs and serve as a liaison between admissions and academic program offices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evaluating international credentials for U.S. equivalency.
