About The Position

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is a private behavioral healthcare center that offers advanced behavioral health diagnostic treatment services for adults, adolescents, and older adults in both inpatient and outpatient programs. The center is committed to excellence in diagnosis, treatment, and education, which are core concepts of its mission. The center is seeking a dynamic and talented Per Diem Day Senior Assessment Coordinator to assist with patient intakes in the admissions department.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field - with or without license/certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field with a current New Jersey state license/certification or state crisis intervention screening license.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field without licensing will be considered.
  • Minimum of one year experience in psychiatric settings required.
  • Previous experience in crisis intervention preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Significant computer skills, including data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet maintenance.
  • Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with Cerner is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with referral agencies in facilitating step down/direct transfer admissions to both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Facilitating all aspects of the assessment and admission process for patients seeking evaluation for psychiatric treatment, including possible co-occurring substance abuse.
  • Providing a comprehensive level of care assessment to recommend treatment within the continuum of care.
  • Handling inquiry calls from referral sources, patients, and family members seeking treatment options efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinating with insurance companies for authorizations of recommended treatment.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborating with the department Director and Supervisor to ensure compliance with state and facility requirements.
  • For Nurses: providing comprehensive medical evaluations for referrals, conducting nurse to nurse reports when indicated, and obtaining orders for admission.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality.
