Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school, seeks a seasonal part-time Admissions Group Visit Leader to work with the Admissions Department. As part of its application process for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants, the admissions office runs 90-minute visits. We seek Group Visit Leaders to help manage the observation and interactions with groups of about ten applicants at a time. Typically, these visits occur three mornings a week, but may only run on Saturdays this year. Leaders must prepare the space with age-appropriate materials, welcome children, and reassure parents who are dropping their children off with us. Each leader manages a component of the visit free play, story time, circle time, snack, and the GES, and contributes to the group visit evaluation form, describing each childs participation when the visit concludes. Typically, leaders are on campus from about 8:30 am until at least 11:30 am. Great group leaders enjoy working with diverse young children (young 3s to 4s) and have some experience in childcare or early childhood education programs. This is a seasonal part-time role that runs from early October through mid-to-late January. Group leaders are also invited to participate in committee meetings as recommendations for admission are made in February.
