About The Position

The University of Louisville is looking for an Admissions Counselor I. This position serves to support the recruitment of incoming first-time students at the University of Louisville. This position will manage a territory where they will be responsible for outreach to high schools, attending college fairs, and communicating and counseling prospective students and parents. This role will also have a responsibility to participate in on-campus and off-campus events hosted by the University and will be encouraged to build and foster relationships within the communities and community-based organizations in their regions. This position will include overnight and weekend work hours. This may include overnight travel and may require sitting and standing for extended periods of time. This position may be based out of Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; or Somerset, KY. The pay for this position is $21 per hour.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop outreach strategy and represent UofL at admissions-related initiative including, but not limited to:
  • High School visits
  • College fairs
  • On-campus recruitment events
  • Off-campus recruitment events
  • Travel to above events within assigned territory as well as territory specific events
  • Daily management of recruitment-related tasks including evaluating admission applications
  • Work with campus partners to develop and implement on and off-campus programs designed to increase visibility of UofL to prospective students as well as yield focused activities
  • Manage school counselor outreach and contacts
  • Work with communications team to create, interpret/adapt, and implement targeted communication plans based on population needs
  • Counsel students and families on admissions process
  • Participate in University, local, state, and national level organizations to stay informed of issues concerning diversity in higher education
