About The Position

The Admissions Coordinator at AmeriMed Infusion Pharmacy is responsible for coordinating infusion therapy, enteral therapy, and durable medical equipment for patients transitioning to home care. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure a seamless admission process and ongoing support throughout therapy. The Admissions Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of customer service and quality improvement in patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years' customer service experience in the medical field.
  • Ability to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate infusion therapy, enteral therapy, and durable medical equipment for infusion patients and customers.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement related to admissions, intake, and service delivery.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and/or Director of Clinical Services to resolve customer service issues.
  • Initiate the admission process for referred patients, obtaining referral data and entering patient information into CPR+.
  • Coordinate start of care with referral sources, patients, and delivery services.
  • Maintain knowledge of product lines and customer service standards.
  • Act as a resource for internal and external customers.
  • Keep current on local insurance provider lists to assist with discharge coordination.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies and referral sources.
  • Verify government payors and insurance coverage, including medical policy and payor requirements for IV and nursing.
  • Complete benefit checks and initial prior authorizations for all product lines as required by payors.
  • Generate and send out ABN, AOB, and Patient Agreement to patients.
  • Participate in team meetings.
