About The Position

The Admissions Coordinator at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville is responsible for managing the admissions process for chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended hospital care. This role involves overseeing referral, intake, verification, pre-certification, and admissions processes, while also providing support to the admissions office and serving as a backup to the Admissions Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of medical office experience or healthcare registration function required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes required.

  • Business or Technical School education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides admissions office support for the facility, serving as the lead support person.
  • Manages referral, intake, verification, pre-certification, and admissions processes; conducts or arranges for facility tours.
  • Makes recommendations to the Admissions Manager regarding hiring and performance management of staff, where applicable.
  • Serves as a back-up to the Admissions Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
