Franklin County Memorial Hospital has an opening for a full-time Admissions Clerk. Must be able to work 7 on 7 off 12 hour shifts. JOB DESCRIPTION Interview incoming patient or representative and enters information required for admission into computer. Obtains and records accurate patient information such as: name, address, e-mail, age, date of birth, social security number, marital status, race, ethnicity, employment, contact information, individual or insurance company responsible for payment of bill, scan and label necessary documents, and enter attending physician. Obtains signed statement from patient or arranges for escort to assigned room or ward. Compile data for occupancy and census records. Follow instructions with minimal supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to travel independently throughout the hospital to access information from other departments. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time.
