The Admissions Clerk is responsible for keeping track of the incoming referral faxes from referring agencies in the Referral Book, staffing with providers for levels of care of referrals received, providing accepting provider information to referring hospitals and coordinating transportation, data entry with sensitive information, answering phone calls, providing resources to callers, and additional duties as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Accepting referred patients to the appropriate unit of care. · Communicating with referring agencies and hospitals to encourage patient receivals. · Utilizing Best Care to register and admit patients into appropriate beds prior to their arrival. · Encourages callers to present for assessments, as needed. · Process patient health care forms and documents. · Provide assistance to the Intake Department with patient data entry and forms. · Upholds the Organization’s ethics and customer service standards. · This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
