Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Processes patient registration by obtaining and inputting accurate demographic information.
  • Completes registration records based on physician orders and EMTALA regulations.
  • Verifies patient consent forms and insurance details, checking for medical necessity and authorization requirements.
  • Inputs orders and scans required documents into the electronic health record.
  • Secures required deposits and insurance information, including copying cards and obtaining signatures.
  • Makes financial arrangements for uninsured patients and refers them to the Admission Supervisor if necessary.
  • Inputs patient demographic information following established policies and procedures.
  • Assembles and distributes reports to designated departments and assists with patient information distribution.
  • Monitors supplies and submits requisitions as needed.
  • Verifies patient status and calls for authorization if required, entering information into the Revenue Cycle folder.
  • Reviews admissions for accuracy and enters authorization numbers into the system.
  • Prepares billing information for Motor Vehicle and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Reconciles payments received for deposit and maintains cash reports.
  • Answers and routes calls at the switchboard, providing messages when necessary.
  • Prepares records for the Health Information Management Department, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Follows infection control and safety policies according to regulatory guidelines.
