Works closely with community/hospital/clinical liaison and appointed Physicians to regulate appropriate length of stay for all bundle/ PAN Handles inquiries from hospitals and assures that benefits are verified prior to admission. Mains working knowledge of the practices related to all pay status types such as other insurances, Medicare A etc. Is aware of which payment entities require prior authorization. Ensures an open and collaborative interdisciplinary relationship between business office, nursing, social services, and admission department. Ensures the completion of the required resident screens such as background checks prior to admission. Ensures all mental health screenings are completed prior to admission as required by federal and state regulations. Also, ensures ongoing compliance with mental screenings requirements and reporting such as categorial determinations. Assures confidentiality in relation to Resident Medical Records and strict adherence to Resident Rights and ethical boundaries. Handles initial inquiries from potential residents and family members via phone or by facilitating in person tours. Mains an accurate, up to date census and length of stay on all bundle/PAN program residents' readmissions. Mains accurate record of available bed at all times using the daily census. Ensures residents pay status changes are accurately recorded on the daily census communication tool. Ensures completion of admissions paperwork including business contracts in accordance with the appropriate level of care within an appropriate time frame. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and contributes to departmental and facility- wide Process Improvement initiatives. Welcomes new residents on or shortly after the day of admission to establish a trusting relationship and decrease the anxiety of admission. Mains a supportive presence for residents and regularly seeks feedback from them to improve services. Coordinates with EVS and housekeeping to assure that cleanliness and aesthetics are maintained in resident areas and in public areas: puts in work orders to correct any issues. Mains accurate vaccination status in electronic medical record. Mains current email/contact lists for residents and their families. Acts as a resource to Families for any areas of concern; redirects to appropriate source as necessary. Navigate and monitor all preferred provider EMR systems in regard to bundle/PAN patients. Provides information to the Surveyors during annual licensure, certification surveys or during a complaint survey. Must be flexible with schedule. Work alternate days of Admissions Director including weekends and evenings as needed. Other duties as assigned.
